Improving Health Outcomes Through Trauma-Informed Culture and Practice

How do we genuinely adopt principles of trauma-informed and recovery oriented practice?

This training will present the principles of trauma-informed practice and the value of transformation to trauma-informed culture towards improving the health outcomes of persons served.
Participants will acquire a practical rationale for incorporating trauma-informed values and approaches into their agency operations and service delivery.

After completing this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the prevalence and impact of trauma in behavioral health populations

  • Understand the principles of trauma-informed practice

  • Distinguish between trauma-informed practice and trauma-informed culture

  • Utilize practical approaches to transform to a trauma-informed culture
  • Name and qualifications of facilitator:
    Dr. Yves Ades brings over 25 years of experience as a leader in the non-profit behavioral health sector, having participated in organizational founding and development, expansion, diversification and transformation.

    Since 2014, Dr. Ades Integrated Health Strategies has provided training and technical assistance for the implementation of best practices that facilitate engagement with high risk/high need populations. Trauma-informed Culture, Motivational Interviewing and Critical Time Intervention have been of central importance to providers seeking to enhance access to, and tenure in, services that address the social determinants of health for people with complex health care needs.

    Ades Integrated Health Strategies has provided training and technical assistance for the implementation of best practices that facilitate engagement with high risk/high need populations. Dr. Ades has worked with over 50 community based providers and provider member organizations in New York City, Long Island, Rockland County and the Hudson Valley.

    Information for Continuing Education:
    This course has been approved for 6 LMSW/LCSW CE hours.
    This course has been approved for 6 CASAC/CPP/CPS/CE hours.

    Participants must arrive on time and stay for each full session in order to receive credit. All participants must submit a post-test and document their attendance via the Social Work CE sign-in and sign-out roster at each session in order to receive credit. No credit will be provided for partial attendance.
