Service Program for Older People, Inc. (SPOP) seeks a full time Senior Vice President - PROS
SPOP is a nationally recognized leader in geriatric mental health. SPOP was the first, and remains one of a handful of agencies in the nation that focuses on the comprehensive mental health needs of seniors living in the community. Since our inception in 1972 we have been providing a full array of services to older adults living in the Manhattan community.
SPOP is a NYS licensed mental health provider serving over 1000 elderly individuals each year through our programs: Clinic, Personalized Recovery Oriented Service (PROS) program, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, Bereavement Support, and Education and Training. SPOP operates the only geriatric PROS program in New York State.

SPOP has an outstanding reputation in the field of geriatrics and mental health and has received numerous national, state and local awards recognizing our excellence and provision of innovative programming. We are now seeking a Senior Vice President-PROS to join us and help us continue our organizational vision and achieve the agency’s mission of enhancing the quality of life of older adults and to foster their independent living through the delivery of comprehensive mental health and supportive services, advocacy and education.
The Sr. VP – for PROS will be a core member of the senior organizational leadership team, and will report to the Chief Program Officer. The Sr. VP for PROS will lead the efforts of the PROS program, which focuses on the needs of severely and persistently mentally ill older adults, empowering them to achieve and maintain healthy lives in the community.
Candidates must have exceptionally strong management and leadership skills and have a demonstrated ability to work in a fast, complex nonprofit terrain. The Sr. VP – PROS must have a strong clinical background with experience in mental health/rehabilitation services, preferably with a severely mentally ill population.
The successful candidate will have an advanced degree in social work, or related human services field; minimum of 8+ years of executive level experience.
