Human Resources Intern (Unpaid)

CASES is seeking an Unpaid Human Resources Intern to join our dynamic organization. This is a great opportunity for a student seeking a career in human resources. You will help us connect potential hires to our organization and gain valuable skills while doing it.
The intern will assist the Human Resources team on various projects and tasks to gain experience in the field of talent acquisition, as well as policy and procedure improvement. He/She will work on a wide variety of projects including screening resumes, scheduling interviews, posting job descriptions on job boards and completing other duties as assigned to support the work of the Human Resources team. Hours are flexible, with a minimum of fourteen hours a week. This position will start ASAP, and end date/holiday schedule is flexible. The intern will work in our Brooklyn, NY office. The position is unpaid but transportation costs will be covered.
Projects / Learning Outcomes:
The intern will be supervised by a member of the Human Resources department and receive training mainly on Recruitment. The intern will learn cross team communications and project management skills, as well as higher proficiency of ability to enhance communications as well as usage of web tools and MS Office. The intern will work with internal and external points of contact, and gain exposure to specific Human Resources functions.
This is a great opportunity to enhance skills in organization, multi-tasking, communications, and learn about recruitment and Human Resources operations.

• Completed or pursing a degree in Human Resources, Public Policy or related degree
• Strong interest in and/or some experience with policy writing
• Strong writing and organizational skills
• Self-starter and self-directed; able to work independently on assigned projects
• Planning, organization, and time management skills with attention to detail
