Department description:
It assists welfare recipients with a substance abuse problem to achieve self-sufficiency through treatment and employment. The goal is to help clients comply with their required substance abuse treatment; with other mandates of the welfare to work initiative; and to obtain employment or disability benefits.

Job description:
Position requires ability to oversee operations in Manhattan and Staten Island with possible occasional travel to SI site.

Responsible for managing the administrative and clinical responsibilities for the Comprehensive Care Management (CCM) programs Assessment Unit and ensuring program compliance with applicable governmental, regulatory and contractual requirements. Ensures appropriate utilization and management of staff to promote quality patient care consistent with the goals/mission of the program, promotes internal/external positive relationships, and interprets, communicates and implements Agency philosophy/policies to staff. Works under general supervision.


Licensure: Valid drivers license may be required, as determined by operational/regional needs. LMSW, LCSW, LMHC preferred.

Education: Masters degree in any Human Services area required. NYS Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) credential required.

Experience: Minimum of four years of progressively responsible supervisory/managerial and administrative experience in a Community Health Organization, health care setting, or social services setting with demonstrated competency in program administration, budget management and community relations required. Minimum of three years of experience working with patients in a mental health or substance abuse environment required. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Knowledge of vocational rehabilitation a plus preferred. Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
