The Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) is an acclaimed human services organization, a leader in the advancement of progressive policies and programs in homelessness and mental health, and one of the nation’s largest providers of social and mental health services in supportive housing.

Position Summary
Reporting to the chief financial officer (CFO), the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities and will lead all finance operations of a budget of $62 million, oversee a team of 18 staff members, and have functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants administration. The position interfaces with board finance and audit committees and works closely with the senior leadership team.


The candidate must be a strategic thinker, planner, and a problem solver while being a hands-on manager. The candidate must have excellent communication and writing skills, be tech savvy, and have a minimum of seven years experience in accounting and finance; a BA is required and a CPA and/or MBA is a plus.
