Nutritionist - Part time

Description
Goodwill Industries is currently seeking a Nutritionist to join the Goodwill Integrated Health and Wellness Center team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for providing optimum nutritional care to patients in an outpatient integrated primary care and mental health setting. As part of a multidisciplinary care team, the dietician provides nutrition screening, assessment, support, counseling, and metabolic monitoring to patients.
Essential Functions:
Assess nutritional needs and food patterns, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans. Provide nutritional counseling Consult with the integrated care team and other members of the individuals care plan. Advise patients on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation Counsel individuals and facilitate groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life Develop curriculum and prepare manuals, visual aids, course outlines, and other materials Provide information and training on nutrition to interdisciplinary care team Participate in weekly integrated care team meetings
Qualifications:
Bachelor’ degree in foods and nutrition, public health nutrition, or dietetics is required orequivalent Education in Nutrition that meets the CDRs education requirement for certification. Current Registered Dietitian Certification from the CDR preferred. Minimum of one year of nutrition experience is required. Must have New York State certification as a Certified Dietician/Nutritionist.
Skills Required:
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook Must have experience with documentation in an Electronic Health Record Excellent communication and written skills Must be able to multi-task in a busy setting in presence of client community Navigate and negotiate through difficult situations Ability to communicate with all levels of employees
Scope of Responsibility & Positions Supervised:
There are no direct reports, may be responsible for supervision of interns Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all participants Must be able to maintain healthy professional boundaries with participants with behavioral health diagnoses Special Working Conditions:
May be required to work evenings and weekends
