For over 25 years, Outreach’s Training Institute (OTI) has been an established leader in training the NYC workforce to become substance abuse and behavioral health counselors.

Schedule Options Are:

There are 9 - 14 hours available each week and the exact schedule will be determined based upon the applicant's availability. There is some flexibility in the days of the week and the hours.

Option 1: Mon, Wed, Thurs, 6 PM - 9 PM; Sat 9 AM - 2 PM
Option 2: Mon, Wed, Thurs, 5 PM - 8 PM; Sat 10 AM - 3 PM

The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Insure ongoing vocational assessments are completed and accurate for all clients in outpatient program.
Implement vocational services and promote utilization of staff that serves to enhance program utilization, service delivery and workforce development for clients.
Ensure ongoing communication and engage in problem solving activities with Richmond Hill Site Director and Vocational Coordinator.
Initiate specialized projects, e.g., outreach, site visits, to promote access and utilization of vocational services.
Intake assessment of new admissions and vocational/educational case management services for clients.
Provide crisis intervention and group work services and back up coverage as needed.

Masters Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling or related field with voc/rehab experience
Experience conducting comprehensive vocational assessments
Experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting preferred
Experience working in an 822 outpatient program
Experience working with clients with substance abuse/mental health disorders
Commitment to providing quality services and outcome driver performance measures
Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to program planning
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
Experience with AVATAR electronic records a plus
LMSW, LMHC or CRC preferred.
Will consider CRC eligible with relevant experience.
Bilingual Spanish a plus
