Community Access, Inc. (CA), founded in 1974, is a progressive not-for-profit organization that expands opportunities for people living with mental health concerns to recover from trauma and discrimination through affordable housing, training, advocacy and healing-focused services. We are built upon the simple truth that people are experts in their own lives. Our programs are spread across 20 locations and include over 1000 units of supportive housing in three boroughs, the Howie The Harp Advocacy Center, ThriveAtWork, Blueprint Supported Education, East Village Access—a PROS program, and a peer-driven Crisis Respite Center.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of
to work in our housing division located at Gouverneur Court..

The position is full-time; base salary starts at 70k, plus an excellent benefits package.

Position Overview
The Program Director oversees the provision of supportive housing to tenants. This includes responsibility for the general welfare of tenants and assuring that services are provided to tenants within the limits of the program’s mission and consistent with the needs and desires of individual tenants. Essential job functions include, but are not limited to: assuring that the program meets funders’ and the agency’s standards for program census, service delivery, staffing, and record keeping; establishing and maintaining an environment for tenants and staff that is consistent with agency values; monitoring the maintenance of the physical plant; supervising program and front desk staff; collaborating with other departments; and developing and maintaining relationships with community members and organizations.

Qualified candidates must have a commitment to recovery oriented practice; Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred – work experience within field may be substituted for degree; must have a minimum of three (3) years working in supportive housing with people who have a history of homelessness/substance abuse/psychiatric diagnosis, etc., preferred; must have previous supervisory experience; must be fingerprinted and cleared by the Office of Mental Health (OMH); knowledge of psychiatric disabilities and of substance abuse; demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team; Bilingual Spanish-speaking, preferred.
