Outreach is seeking a qualified Part Time Vocational Counselor to work in our Outreach Outpatient Services located at 117-11 Myrtle Avenue, Richmond Hill, NY 11418. The Part Time Vocational Counselor is responsible for the delivery of all vocational/educational, supportive and enhanced services. These services include but are not limited to computer skills training and oversight of vocational assessment/counseling, case management, and coordination of on-site VESID services, educational testing and referral for collateral services.

Schedule Options Are:

There are 9-14 hours available each week and there is some flexibility in the hours and days.

Option 1: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 6 PM - 9 PM; Saturday 9 AM - 2 PM
Option 2: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 5 PM - 8 PM; Saturday 10 AM - 3 PM


•Insure ongoing vocational assessments are completed and accurate for all clients in outpatient program.

•Complete TABE testing for clients enrolled in program.

•Ensure compliance with regard to tracking, reporting and outcome objectives, including ongoing internal review of service delivery.

•Assist Vocational Counselor with training and support to staff at Richmond Hill.

•Represent the program at agency and county levels as directed by the Site Director.

•Implement vocational services and promote utilization of staff that serves to enhance program utilization, service delivery and workforce development for clients.

•Ensure ongoing communication and engage in problem solving activities with Richmond Hill Outpatient Site Director and Vocational Coordinator.

•Initiate specialized projects, e.g., outreach, site visits, to promote access and utilization of vocational services.

•Participate in program and staff meetings, where appropriate.

•Intake assessment of new admissions and vocational/educational case management services for clients.

•Provide crisis intervention and group work services and back up coverage as needed


•Masters Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling or related field with voc/rehab experience
•Bachelor's degree with related experience
•Experience conducting comprehensive vocational assessments and TABE testing
•Experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting preferred
•CRC preferred
•Will consider CRC eligible with relevant experience
