The Bridge, an innovative and well respected mental health agency serving adults with serious mental illness, substance abuse, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and co-morbid medical conditions is seeking an Accounting Manager to supervise three accounting staff responsible for accounts payable, cash receipts and monthly reconciliations; oversee vendor relations and communication with program staff on purchasing; oversee petty cash, credit card, and metrocard transactions, along with establishing and monitoring control procedures; review and approve all accounts payable transactions, making sure that proper authorizations and documentation are in place; review cash receipt postings and their allocations to the appropriate accounts and departments; develop efficient systems and procedures for accounting functions; develop and regularly update all shared cost allocations; work with finance team to achieve regular monthly closings and reports; monitor expenses throughout the organization, and identify and implement cost saving measures in areas of operation; work with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate audits, 990s and CFRs; monitor and develop procedures as needed to ensure that accounting procedures are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and comply with all government regulations; work on special projects to enhance efficiency and improve financial reporting systems; work with the Controller to oversee the productive and accurate operation of the Serenic software and its integration with Real Page; perform other special projects and duties as may be assigned.
