Computer Technician/VOIP Administrator

Description

Reports to: Network Manager

Overview: The Computer Technician role is to deliver support and other Information Systems support to end users at CASES with regards to the computing environment that is in use within the agency at its many locations. The VOIP Administrator role is to optimize the agency’s use of VOIP for all staff.

Responsibilities:

• VOIP Administrator:

o Ensures that employees have a phone and working extension. Supports and reviews with staff voicemail set up and retrieval.
o Manage moves and changes.
o Troubleshoot VOIP issues.
o Become familiar with system options for the two VOIP systems currently in use; evaluate, test, recommend and train staff on use of new functionality.

• Computer Technician

o Troubleshoots applications.
o Distributes, moves, and sets up hardware.
o Monitors printers and copiers to ensure that they are working properly.
o Provides desktop and application support to users.
o Support and provide general computer and telephone training to new hires.
o Supports end-user equipment.
o Maintain equipment inventory
o Assists the CASES Tech Team in the following:
o Upgrades software/hardware;
o Configures applications;
o Researches equipment/software that could potentially benefit a department or the organization;
o Document continuing Process and Procedures/changes.

• Intern Mentorship

o Occasionally Information Systems provides internships for computer support. The network manager is responsible for these interns, but the Computer Technicians/VOIP Administrator will be working closely with these interns.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Networking environment, basic computer maintenance, and Google Apps for Education.

Salary

Commensurate with experience.
