Assistant Director of Clinical Services

The Door


The Assistant Director of Clinical Services reports to the Managing Director of Mental Health and Wellness. This staff member will provide leadership and management of the counseling functions within the Counseling Program and Crisis Counseling by providing training, clinical supervision, quality assurance and contract oversight. This position will provide clinical consultation to other programs and units within The Door, including Member Services. This position will work with Supervisors and Directors across the agency to ensure integration and accessibility of counseling and mental health services among other programs within The Door.


• Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field required
• LCSW required
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in adolescent development, assessment and counseling
• Minimum of 5years’ (post-Master’s) clinical and supervisory experience
• Knowledge of and ability to apply positive youth development principles to working with young people
• Experience with program planning and evaluation and contract management
• Proven track record of effective staff support and supervision as well as the ability to build and maintain collaborative partnerships.
• Knowledge of government contract related to the mental health/counseling field
• Demonstrate an understanding of and practice the principals of positive youth development
• Experience working with LGBT-identified, runaway and homeless, foster care and immigrant youth populations
• Excellent written, oral communication and analytic skills
• Certification in Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) preferred
• Proficiency in Spanish, French, Mandarin preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
