Description

The Bridge, an innovative and well respected mental health agency serving adults with serious mental illness, substance abuse, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders is seeking a Peer Specialist to assist program staff in all client matters including engagement and enrollment for services such as substance abuse, mental health, and medical treatment and follow up as necessary; escort clients to outside appointments to obtain benefits, medical doctor, psychiatrist or dentist when necessary, shopping; manage crisis within the residential setting utilizing recognized crisis intervention strategies and appropriate incident reporting; perform site apt. in-reach, and field visits, as necessary; facilitate weekly peer groups and perform ADL training; document services in log book and through progress note; perform related clerical and administrative duties; attend staff meetings, supervision, and training as required. Any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

•Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
•Interest with working and learning about mental illness/addictive, disorders strongly preferred.
•Completion of a Peer Advocacy Program, strongly preferred.
•Ability to provide client community escorts to healthcare appointments and meet the physical demands of completing hourly rounds in a residential program.
