Puerto Rican Family Institute, Inc. (PRFI), founded in 1960, is a nonprofit, multi-program family-oriented health and human services agency whose primary mission is to prevent family disintegration and enhance the self-sufficiency of the Latino community. PRFI offers a comprehensive array of social and health care services that are culturally and linguistically relevant. Our core services include mental health treatment, crisis intervention, adult and children’s health care coordination, child placement prevention, residential programs for developmentally disabled adults, and Head Start programs. Our programs operate in New York City and in Puerto Rico and are available to clients of all races and ethnic backgrounds.

PRFI is currently seeking a full time Quality Assurance Coordinator to ensure that our OPWDD Residences meet the regulatory guidelines and requirements for OPWDD and Medicaid while reflecting the quality of service PRFI stands for.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Performing ongoing review of documentation – clinical, medical, physical plant and fire safety, for our four OPWDD Group Homes, both ICF and IRA.
• Serving as chairperson for the Incident Review Committee and Human Rights Committee.
• Overseeing investigations and submitting all investigations into IRMA and WSIR (Justice Center).
• Attending IDT meetings at the residences as needed.
• Assisting in the conversion process of ICFs’ to IRAs’.
• Planning and executing in-house education and training programs; as per OWPDD standards.
• Special projects as deemed necessary by the Program Director.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Human/Social Services and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must have a firm grasp of relevant OPWDD and Medicaid policies and procedures with a thorough understanding of the New York State Justice Center and Part 624. Thorough knowledge of City, State and Federal regulations governing the operation of intermediate care facilities and individual residential alternatives required. S/He must possess an OPWDD Investigator Certificate or be able to obtain one within 6 months’ time. Some local travel required.

S/He will have keen analytical skills, high attention to detail, the ability to work within strict time constraints and manage multiple tasks at the same time.

All candidates must be able to meet state-mandated clearance requirements including a criminal background check as well as medical clearance, including a 2 step TB test.

Salary

$50-55k annual salary based on experience.
